    NBCUniversal Supplier Diversity Program
    I. The NBCUniversal Supplier Diversity Program promotes the use of qualified diverse suppliers in all tiers of NBCUniversal’s procurement process.

The guiding principles of our Supplier Diversity Program are:
    • Provide fair and equal business opportunities through procurement to minority and women-owned suppliers.
    • Clearly state our procurement standards and expectations regarding use of diverse suppliers, including supply chain initiatives such as cost savings and quality assurance practices.
    • Create an NBCUniversal environment where internal resources including senior executives apply their expertise to the growth and development of leading diverse suppliers.
    • Identify, create and broaden mutually beneficial business opportunities for NBCUniversal and diverse suppliers.
    • Maintain measurable accountability for Supplier Diversity internally and externally through input from external advisory councils and performance reporting of our efforts.
An increase in the diverse populations greatly expands the base of sophisticated and qualified suppliers. NBCUniversal is fully committed to embracing this expanding source of products and services, with the end goal of developing mutually beneficial relationships with that diverse supply base.

II. NBCUniversal requires its direct suppliers that are not Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises ("M/WBEs") to periodically report the amount spent by the supplier and its subcontractors of any tier with M/WBE subcontractors and M/WBE suppliers of materials and services that are used in the supplier’s performance of its supply agreement with NBCUniversal.

“Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise” means a business enterprise that is at least 51% owned by a minority individual or group(s); or in the case of any publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock of which is owned by one or more minority groups, and whose management and daily business operations are controlled and operated by one or more of those individuals. The following groups are recognized as minority for this purpose: African Americans; Hispanic Americans; Native Americans; Asian/Pacific American; Women; and other groups as identified and recognized by the United States Small Business Administration and the United States Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency.

M/WBEs must be certified as being M/WBE by one of the following: National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) (www.nmsdc.org); Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) (www.wbenc.org); or Small Business Administration (SBA) (www.sba.gov). NBCUniversal also supports veteran, service disabled, and LGBT business enterprises.
